Mixed reactions trail P-Square’s alleged split

-

The social media and other online fora such as blogs have been filled with the news that the hip-pop duo, Peter and Paul Okoye also known as P-square are planning to go their separate ways. One of such blogs, LindaIkeji.blogspot.com wrote: “I wrote that the twin brothers Peter and Paul engaged in physical combat last Wednesday. If this was false, Peter is a social media person, he would have immediately denied it. He didn’t! Now, let me make this clear. This report is based on what’s been happening with the brothers up until right now Saturday April 19th.” She went on say that perhaps the publicist was clueless about what was going on in the houmestead.

According to the same report, the twin brothers P-Square have been having issues for a while. They argue over everything, songs, videos, ideas etc. It was gathered from industry sources that the two brothers engaged in a physical combat on Wednesday April 16th during rehearsals and they had to be separated by their dancers. However, during the week, it was alleged that their elder brother Jude Okoye, who is also their manager, took to his twitter account to say he is done. It would be recalled that a tweet by Jude Okoye in the morning of April 18, 2014, Friday, had been interpreted as his intention to quit after “over 10yrs of hard work”. Moreover Jude has recently kicked off his own record label, Northside Entertainment. Despite the tweet, Jude’s Twitter bio remains:

“President/C.E.O Square Records, Northside Music Inc and Northside Entertainment Ltd. PSquare’s Manager/ Producer Director …….what else… mypsquare.com”.

This news has however caused some confusion in the social media. Fans of the celebrity twins have been making comments, some in the form of prayers while others see it as a way of gaining public attention. This is what they had to say:

Nwatu Christian: Don’t mind those boys, they know what they are doing. They only want people to spread that rumor and they will in turn use it to get points to sing. Don’t worry, you are not wiser than them. You will still buy their rumor album

Rosy Jonah: I prayed for the Okoye family that the Lord who has kept them together over the years will bring them together in unity in the mighty name of Jesus.

Cindy Patrick: It is so disheartening to hear of the rumored split. As much as I don’t want to hear that P-square may split, I will be lying if I say, as an adept follower that I have not noticed things to be scared of. First and foremost, torturing is the silence of Peter, it is like playing a radio and forgetting it’s on mute. The Peter we are used to should have said even a sentence.

Angie Cape: Queen of the coast has entered to do what else is there to do than to scatter? She won’t stop at just splitting the family; he’s to BEWARE. They need to keep it together for their sake. Governor Kwankwaso insulting Mr. President is like insulting Nigerians.

The problems that plague this country are numerous but all are as a result of our misdeeds, so we should stop blaming Mr. President for all that is happening. The problems are beyond Mr. President to solve. He is not behind what is happening and I’m sure he’ll still win. Even if an angel was sent to come and rule Nigeria, things can’t change if he decides to sin against Allah (SWT). Let alone the APC people clamouring for change

Kwankwaso has no fault. Because President Jonathan started by accusing and insulting the Governor in his hometown.

Mr. President, please understand your position. Avoid any war of words with your governors. We always want to notice the differences, between you and your governors in every human endeavour. We are all watching patiently how you people are mismanaging the country’s resources. But both of you ahould give peace a chance.

What kind of leaders do we have in Nigeria? Hundreds killed, hundreds more kidnapped, yet the leaders show no concern. Less than 24 hours after, they are in the public dancing. They are insensitive to our feelings. Nigerians should not be deceived any longer.
