Abuja Literary Society renews partnership with Transcorp

- By Abubakar Adam Ibrahim

The Abuja Literary Society (ALS) has announced that it is renewing its partnership with Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, in a move designed to attract more literary enthusiasts to its reading programmes.

The ALS has for years championed weekly programmes aimed at promoting literature such as the Open Mic, which invites all writers to come read their works, The Book Club, a discussion forum for books and the Book Jam sessions which features a guest writer once every month.

The renewal follows the collapse of a previous partnership between the two organisations and has got the ALS founder Sir Victor Anoliefo excited.

“We are very excited to work with Transcorp Hilton,” he said. “Our partnership with Transcorp Hilton provides a relaxed and aesthetically pleasing environment for our activities. The First-Friday-ofthe-month at Transcorp Hilton event is an exciting development for the ALS.”

While lauding the new development, Mr. Shola Adeyemo, the PR & Marketing Manager of Transcorp Hilton stated that “the ALS is a great partner and this agreement exemplifies their dedication to promoting creativity, reading culture and artistry in Nigeria through their activities.”

The partnership will see the hotel providing a complimentary hall every first Friday of the month to the ALS for its activities while the society would reciprocate by acknowledging the hotel as a sponsor before, during and after every event.
