Coomassie hails Buhari on insurgency, anti-graft wars
The chairman, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), the Pro-Chancellor and chairman of Council of Al-Hikmah University Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Coomassie, yesterday commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the attention given to national security since his assumption of office on May 29, this year.
He also expressed his support for Buhari’s anti-graft war and solicited for compulsory religion studies in schools and colleges nationwide.
Coomassie who spoke in Ilorin during the 5th convocation of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Kwara state said it is a strategic way of inculcating the right values and good consciousness in Nigerian youths.
A total of 817 students graduated at the event, with 17 of them making First Class Honours.
“The bold steps taken by the administration so far are highly commendable”, he said and expressed the hope that this would be extended to the entire strata of the society, such as religious organizations, military, police, and Para- military, educational institutions, human right associations, as well as the organized private sector.
He noted that both Islam and Christianity abhor corruption under whatever guise, saying, “It is a duty of every Nigerian to support the initiatives of the present administration so that the common wealth of Nigerians could be judiciously harnessed for the benefit of all citizens.”
