Kogi CP pledges adequate security
The new Commissioner of Police deployed to the Kogi State, Mr Ibrahim Chafe, yesterday assured that he would do everything possible in collaboration with members of the public to ensure adequate security in the state.
Chafe, in an interview with Daily Trust on Sunday, said he had identified the various ‘black spots’ in the state and that surveillance would be intensified along those axis and other parts of the state to tackle all forms of crime.
“We are doing everything possible to guarantee adequate security in the state. On the 27th of this month, the governor is going to launch patrol vehicles that will be distributed to security agencies and we have already mapped out strategies on the use of these vehicles. So we are on course”, he said.
He called on members of the public to give useful information to the police to enable them crackdown on criminal elements, assuring that such information would be treated with utmost confidentiality.
Chafe added that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, recently donated two Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and deployed additional units of policemen to the state in his quest to address security challenges.
He commended the Kogi State government for providing logistics support to the police and other security agencies.
Chafe called on youths in the state to shun crime and engage in productive ventures that would add value to their lives.
