Tambuwal: My govt available for scrutiny, not running a cult
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State yesterday said he would never shy away from being examined by his people because he is not running a secret cult.
“I don’t have any grudge with any journalist for writing constructive report about my government. I assure you that we will always be available for cross checking of facts because, we are not running a cult, it is not a mafia, but government and one cannot run a government as a personal property. We are one, transparent and accessible,” he stated.
He tasked journalists in the state to bring to the fore any activity of his government to the public domain for scrutiny.
The governor said every responsible government need to be transparent and disseminate what it was doing to its people.
He reiterated his government determination to improve the lots of its people despite the daunting economic challenges.
The Governor also shared with journalists some of the outcome of the Northern Governor Forum meetings, saying their discussion bordered on how to address security challenges, revive agriculture and enhance economy activities in the region.
On the state Independent Power Plant, he said it has to be test ran 11 times before certified fit for operation and that so far it was only tested nine times.
