Choosing the right foundation for your skin tone
Most people get it wrong when buying a foundation shade for their makeup because they do not first consider the undertone their skin.
Everyone has different undertone: cool, warm and neutral. Understanding the real colour of your skin is the key to purchasing the right foundation shade for a flawless makeup look. There are many ways to determine your skin’s undertone: by looking at the inside part of your arm. This area is hidden from the sun; therefore, it reveals the real colour of your undertone. Secondly you can look at the veins on the underside of your wrist to enable you know your undertone.
After you have discovered your undertone, the next thing is to select neutral foundation shades that have only the slightest hint of your skin’s undertone.
If you have a cool undertone, the foundation should look slightly pinkish in the bottle, but if your undertone is warm, then the foundation should have a subtle yellow or golden undertone. Once you can identify your undertone, then you can easily find a formula depending on your complexion’s needs, instead of picking the wrong type for your skin.
There are different types of foundation shade. If you can’t pick the right shade for yourself, consult a skin care specialist or your makeup artist on the right shade for your skin type. Change the look of your make up kits by using the right shade for your undertone, and get a more beautiful and dashing look.
