The management of Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi, has confirmed the engagement of 18 new players as part of preparatio­n for the 2017/2018 premier League season.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the club’s media officer Bala Usman Kurba.

It stated that the 18 players were signed following a proposal sent to the management of the team by the club’s Technical Adviser, Bala Nikyu which was later approved by the Management.

According to the statement, the newly signed players are; Zakka Bala from Kano Pillars, Nafiu Kabuka from Kano Pillars, Chima Ndukwu from Plateau United, Onouha chukwujekw­u from Remo stars, Muktari Ali kwura from Kano Pillars, and Gabriel jeremah from Niger Tornadoes.

Others are; Nura Ibrahim from Kano Pillars, Joseph Ujah from Lobi stars, Samuel Kalu from Zoo United, Mustapha Abdullahi from Sports Light, Joshua Abah from jigawa Golden stars, Emmanuel Agwu from Tonnal SC Japan, Abubakar Umar from Abia Warriors and Pius Ibrahim from Kano Pillars.

The rest are; Emeka Onyia from Mighty Jet, Abdulwahab Bidemi from Katsina United, Fasomni Olaniyi from Sunshine Stars and Chibundu Ama from Jaya Rock FC.

Wikki General Manager, Awwalu Babajada said the management is satisfied with the calibre of the 18 new players.

“Already, we have entered into agreement with all the players both old and new. What is left now is to commence full preparatio­n before the start of the league proper which we believe our outing this season will be fruitful,”he said.

He therefore called on supporters of the club and all stakeholde­rs in football developmen­t in the state to partner with the management.

He urged them to shun all forms of hooliganis­m whenever the team is playing at home.
