Kogi traditional rulers laud projects in rural communities
Prominent traditional rulers in Kogi State have commended the Kogi State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) for impacting many lives in rural communities through their projects.
The traditional rulers gave the commendation in separate remarks when a team from the State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) led by the State Project Coordinator, Engr Sheidu Obansa led an advocacy visit to their palaces.
The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr Ado Ibrahim, while commending Governor Yahaya Bello, for attracting the World Bank supported project to the state, noted that its implementation would enhance the standard of living of rural dwellers.
The Ohimege-Igu of Koton/karfe Alhaji Abdulrasaq Sani Koto, while welcoming the team to his palace noted that the people of his domain were predominantly farmers and expressed delight that Kogi RAAMP had come to address their age long suffering, assuring of his support for the project.
On their parts, the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi III and the Olubunu of Bunuland, Oba Joseph Ikesemoro, in their separate remarks during the team’s visit lauded the project and also pledged their support.
Earlier, the State Project Coordinator, Engr. Sheidu Obansa, explained that the project which was being carried out by the World Bank in partnership with the Kogi State government was out to serve the needs of rural farmers.
