NCPC to print customized bibles for Christian pilgrims
The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission, Rev. Tor Uja, has said that the commission would produce specially printed bibles for the 2018 pilgrimage.
He made this known during an orientation programme for security personnel, staff and other stakeholders for the pilgrimage to Israel, Rome and Greece.
“I have noticed that most pilgrims who embark on pilgrimage do not always go with bible, so the commission will partner the Bible Society of Nigeria to produce specially designed bibles for all intending pilgrims as from next year.
The Executive Secretary said the orientation exercise was aimed at securing the environment. He stated that the commission would build a proper pilgrims camp and conference centre closer to the airport so that all intending pilgrims are camped for about three days and subjected to security training.
“This is necessary because it has been observed that many pilgrims who go to the holy land year after year have different understandings, motives and perceptions of pilgrimage,” he said.
He said the Christian pilgrimage is designed to deepen pilgrims’ understanding of Christ and to imbibe in them his lifestyle.
“We want our pilgrims to explore the holy land and the miracles Jesus performed while on earth to enrich their faith,” he said.
