Arrangements are in top gears as the Keffi Polo Ranch in Nasarawa State, brace up for second edition of its international polo tournament billed to gallop off with fanfare from December 5-10, 2017.

Proprietor of the high profile ranch, Honourable Ahmed Wadada, former member, House of Representatives from Nasarawa State, who dropped this hint, stated that top Nigerian polo patrons, players, professionals from Argentina, South Africa and the United Kingdom, and national professional players are expected to showcase their awesome skills at the forthcoming polo fiesta.

Wadada who disclosed that the polo ranch is calculated at attracting socio-economic growth to the state and bring development closer to his people, also confirms that certain percentage of the proceeds accruable at the tournament would be channeled to supporting education and orphans.

Before now, Wadada Education Foundation has been in the fore front boosting the educational sector of Nasarawa State through awards of scholarship, constructing and renovating classroom blocks in schools across the Nasarawa West senatorial Zone.

“It’s a huge pleasure to champion the birth of polo here and using a percentage of the proceeds to support charitable efforts in Nasarawa State. I’ve always believe in giving back to the society and I’m lucky that my little efforts have been yielding huge results.”

“As we are all aware that sports can help in bridging the cultural, ethnic, religion and political divides, promote tolerance, peace; create job and advocates healthy life style, I want to touch the life of the less privilege through sport” he added.

Tournament Manager, Bashir Mohammed disclosed that more than twelve teams, comprising defending champions, Keffi Ponys and Fifth Chukker team would rekindle their rivalry in the high goal President/ Governors Cup. Their quest for the President Cup would be challenged by the arrival of Profile Group and Rubicon who are no strangers to high stake games.

Close to a dozen teams medium-goal teams will battle for the National Assembly/ Atiku Abubakar Cup, and an army of equally matched low-goal teams are set to rumble for the Emir of Keffi/Oba of Lagos Cup.

Located off the ever busy Abuja-Keffi Highway, the ranch comes with its own natural and inviting appeal. From every indications, a lot more polo enthusiasts from around the country and beyond, will be part of this second edition and Wadada has assures everyone the best of times at the ranch during the tournament.
