Achieving the perfect nails for Xmas

- by HAFSAH ABUBAKAR MATAZU

Christmas is right around the corner and preparations are in full swing. As expected, looking in top shape for the celebrations is an absolute must. Apart from your face and hair, have you given any thought to your nails? Yes, your hands must be pampered and shown love too. Here’s how to achieve fabulous nails in good time for the festivities.

Prepare your nails first: How do you do this? It is quite simple. Soak your hands in soapy warm water to make your nails softer and easier to handle. Give them a trim: Using a nail cutter, trim your nails to your desired length, slowly and carefully paying utmost attention to avoid cutting yourself. Use a nail file to file-done your nails to the shape you desire. Apply lotion: To seal in that moisture and keep them soft, rub some lotion into your hands, paying special attention to your nails. Give attention to your cuticles: It is important not to remove them, instead, push them back, using a wooden or plastic cuticle stick. Never use metal. Give them a good buff: Using a threesided buffer, buff them to a nice shine until your nails look smooth and well shaped. Decide what you want to do with them: Now that you have given yourself a quality manicure, it is perfectly fine to rock your natural nails, seeing that they look beautiful. But if you want to go all out, then now is the time to get creative. A polished coat of clear nail polish or a French manicure is nice if you want to keep it simple. You can also go for gel or acrylic nails with a festive touch to it. It is entirely up to you. Either way, you are now ready to flaunt your nails with confidence.
