AVM Abdullahi: Kyari leads FG delegation to Kano

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his profound grief and sorrow over the death of Air Vice Marshall Hamza Abdullahi (rtd), a one-time Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) who also served as the military Governor of Kano State under him when he was the Military Head of State.

AVM Hamza Abdullahi died after a short illness in Germany and was buried in Kano on Friday.

President Buhari, in a condolence message delivered by a government delegation led his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari in Kano, paid rich tributes to the late AVM Abdullahi, saying that his services to the military, the FCT, the old Kano State and the nation as a whole will be long remembered.

The delegation was received by the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Nasiru Gawuna on behalf of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje at the Government House and by the Emir of Hadejia, Dr Adamu Abubakar Maje Haruna at the residence of the late AVM Abdullahi.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu said both leaders thanked President Buhari for identifyin­g with their people at this sad moment.

President Buhari also extended his sympathies to the family and friends of the Talban Katsina, Ambassador Zakari Ibrahim who lost a 36-year old son, Shamsuddee­n Zakari following a brief illness.

The delegation was also on a condolence mission to the family home of late Alhaji Abdulrahma­n Na-Kano Rafindadi, who died at 85 after a protracted illness.
