Arewa Lagos endorses Buhari, Sanwo-Olu, other APC candidates

Arewa Lagos State, the umbrella body of northern Nigeria groups and associations in Lagos, has adopted President Muhammadu Buhari, Lagos State governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and all other All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearers in the state as its preferred candidates.

The state Chairman of the organization, Alhaji, Muhammed Dandama, who made the remarks at the 2019 Arewa Lagos Festival held at the Agege Stadium, said this year’s event was historic because it was coming few weeks to the general elections.

According to Dandama, there was need for people of northern Nigeria to speak with one voice in the coming general election and that the candidacy of President Buhari and SanwoOlu has provided them with the opportunity.

He said it has now become expedient for Nigerians to sustain the progress of on-going developmental efforts and that sustainability can only be enhanced with the re-election of Buhari and election of Sanwo-Olu who he said “has record of performance.”

The Director, Ethnic Affairs, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Campaign, Wale Adelana described the Arewa voting populace “as the most reliable in Lagos.”

He applauded the initiative behind the organization of the 2019 Lagos Arewa Festival, saying the adoption of APC candidates has further affirmed the readiness of Nigerians to move to the next level with the current administration.
