DON’T BE DEPENDENT ON OTHER PEOPLE. ECONOMIC POWER IS VERY IMPORTANT.

- TAMBARI

“Service to God and humanity.” This is because, sincerely speaking, to me there are only two main things in life: to serve God and people with what you have.

For a very long time, it used to be rice and salad because it’s what I grew up eating. But with age, it has become tuwo with miyan kuka. Modesty. I like being modest.

I have one tailor and I always stick to him. I am always comfortable with what he makes for me and he knows what I want. So he is my favourite fashion designer. Coco Chanel for perfume. And for shoes and bags, I like Aldo.

She said something to me when she was travelling and never came back. She said I should be decent and that I should please take care of my younger ones. I never knew that was the last time I would see her. She said she was leaving them for me. That’s what I keep reminding myself - that she was leaving them for me. And sincerely speaking, I think I have not failed in doing that. I have tried my best.

I do some exercise in trekking. Of recent, I started moving towards the colour pink but it used to be purple. I love Honda CRV. I enjoy cold weather.

I love Fridays because of the anticipation of the weekend and knowing that the following day, being Saturday, I won’t be going to work. In fact, my blood pressure goes down on Fridays. I just use eyeliner (kwalli) and powder. I have always been very simple.

My mother, who I lost at the age of 17. I will always look up to her. The late Hajiya Hadiza Atiti. She was my first principal at Women’s Teachers’ College, Katsina. There’s also Hajiya Asmau, who was our first chairman. I also adore the late Princess Diana. I like her humanitarian work and simplicity.

I have noticed that these days, the issue of being too materialistic is taking over many things. I would tell them to be less materialistic, sincerely speaking. They should go to school, be well educated and get their own jobs or businesses. It doesn’t have to be government job. Don’t be dependent on other people. Economic power is very important.

Two of Nigeria’s top acts, Simi and Adekunle Gold are married! The couple has been known to be very reserved and private about their love life, and only a few weeks ago, Simi was spotted wearing a ring that fueled rumours that the lovebirds might be getting hitched.

It was an intimate ceremony of 300 guests in Lagos, with the traditional wedding on Wednesday, followed by the white wedding on Thursday on Ilashe beach.

Many fans and celebrities have taken to social media to congratulate the newlyweds including Davido. We wish them a happy married life and marital bliss.

D’Banj recently made a trip to Ghana, during which, he met with the Ghanaian president, Nana Akufi-Addo at the Presidential Palace. The meeting included a discussion on further diversifying the creative industry and expanding it as well.

He shared pictures of the meeting on social media in which he said, “It was an amazing meeting with the president of Ghana, Let’s take the creative industry to the next level.”

The likes of Wizkid and Nigerian-American artiste Jidenna were also present.

Nigerian-American rapper Jidenna has made a trip to the homeland, during which he paid a visit to the New Afrika Shrine to see the Kuti family. “I give thanks to the Anikulapo Kuti family for inviting us to The New Afrika Shrine. You all are true royalty. ‘Afrobeats’ artists owe tithes and offerings to una. I will forever cherish this night of wisdom, laughter, and libations all night with Femi Kuti, Yeni Akuti and Real Seun Kuti, and Big bird Kuti, New Afrika, Fear and Fancy, Afrika shrine and Fela Kuti,” Jidenna said.

He also recently performed at the Sound City MVP Awards during his trip as well.
