It is better to compliment them and let them tell you what they did to lose weight. The topic of weight can be a very touchy subject for some people.

It is also very rude to ask somebody if he/she added weight. This makes them feel insecure and conscious of their bodies. Keep your opinions to yourself to avoid offending them.

When are you getting married?

This is absolutely not a nice thing to ask someone. Many people have problems with their personal lives and

That’s easy If someone asks you to help them with a task, don’t make them feel small and incompetent by saying, ‘Oh! That’s easy.’ It can make them feel bad and not smart. It would be much better and kinder to help them and show them how to do it so they are able to do it themselves in the future. I’m sorry, s but...

adds to one’s anger and hurt when you try to justify your actions while apologising. Apologise properly when you have offended someone. Saying ‘but’ completely invalidates your apology. It also suggests that you are not sincerely sorry. I told you so When you say this to someone, all they hear is, ‘That is your fault because you didn’t take my advice. I am smarter and better than you.’ It is not a competition, and it is rude to say this as it makes them feel dumb. There is no need adding more pain to one’s loss. So refrain from using this phrase.

world. I thought eve everybody’s family was like mine. I didn’t understand, maybe because my parents were very protective and maybe because I grew up with my mother and father in the house. I did not understand a lot of things going on outside the world until I started working and meeting people. It was a very nice life. moralist, but it is because of the morals and upbringing not to look down on people. My parents taught me to always tell the truth and be proud of who I am. Aspirations growing up I was not really an ambitious person. I just took life as it came, but life brought me to this stage. It is not what I expected because I never thought I would one day be the attorney-general of Kaduna State. I just started working in the bank, so I thought I would just get married, have children and afterwards retire, but life had other plans for me and I ended up working with Governor Nasir el-Rufai, who is an inspiration to me. Working with the governor makes me want to do better than I used to because when you see the zeal he puts in doing his job, you would want to put in your best to achieve results. Fond childhood memories Because my brothers were much older than me, they did not play with me. But I looked up to them all the time. I wanted to do whatever I saw them doing. My sister, brother and I were like the babies of the family; people didn’t even know we had older brothers.

I miss being at home with our parents, going out and playing with friends. Kaduna was very quiet at that time, so we moved around. It was nice and safe. Kaduna is a really nice place to grow. Out of most people I know, I am the one that has not left Kaduna because I believe it is my home. I have lived here most of my life, but unfortunately, things have happened over the years that have given Kaduna a bad name. Government is trying to get back the good name. Joys of motherhood It is wonderful to see my child grow up, imbibe good values and hoping she grows up to be a good person, as well as watching her move from one stage to another and excel in school. Favourite fashion item I cannot do without my eyeliner, earrings and wristwatch. Favourite travel destination I love travelling a lot, but I can be a bit boring. I can just go back to the same places because I am comfortable with doing the same routine. I am not an adventurous person, so I go to London a lot. It is somewhere I am very comfortable with because it is just like going to Abuja or staying in Kaduna; I know my way around. I enjoy visiting South Africa and Botswana because they have cultural heritages.

As part of my bucket list I would love to be more adventurous and travel to different destinations all over the world.

How do you relax?

I am always at home and I like watching movies. I read a lot, actually, I just have not had time because of my work. When I come back I am tired, but I used to read a lot. Favourite food When it comes to food, surprisingly I like to eat all kinds of food. I like local food, continental and foreign food. I just eat anything I enjoy. I also like Chinese food. Definition of style I am not a showy person; I like very simple things. I am not flamboyant; I just like simple, unique and elegant outfits. It does not matter to me because I am that sort of person that likes anything.
