Polo adds verve to Argungu fishing festival

The much anticipate­d return of the foremost Argungu Fishing and Cultural Festival is already upon us with the game of kings providing the fire, as eight fully armed polo teams, lead the Calvary to the new look festival.

Billed to hold from March 11-14, 2020 Polo Royals can authoritat­ively report that this will be a four day of festival to remember, as the Kabi Kingdom and the entire Kebbi state have rolled out the red carpet to welcome guests.

Polo Checks reveal that the eight teams parading most of the biggest names in the country will vie for, four major prizes in what pundits tip to be titanic battles that would provide the electricit­y powering the forth coming Fishing Festival.

The trophies include the high stake President Cup, Governors Cup, Sultan Cup and the Emir of Argungu Cup that would pitch two equally matched teams, the JEDO Investment team and Dandarman Kabi team in a winners-takes-all duel.

Participat­ing players of the event are drawn from major polo centres like, Kaduna, Zaria, Kano, Yolo, Bache, Abuja, Joss Katina and Port Harcourt, among others.

Organizers were hosted by the Kebbi State Government under the leadership of Governor Atiku Bagudu, with the royal blessings from the Emir of Argungu, HRH Muhammad Mera, the annual fiesta has left a legacy that puts Nigeria on the global stage of tourism for many decades now.

Nura Kangiwa, organising Committee Secretary of the festival speaking to Polo Royals confirmed that the festival is billed to thrill from March 11-14, 2020 in the ancient city of Argungu, Kebbi State.
