Covid-19: Sunshine Stars take two weeks break
The management of Sunshine Stars of Akure have approved a two week break for its players and officials following the the suspension of the 2019/20 Nigeria Professional Football League season
While the players are expected to follow individual fitness programme during the break, the Club urge all personnel and the fans to stay safe of the current health pandemic by adhering to the Government-given guidelines with their family.
Similarly, Sunshine Stars have moved to strengthen its medical department for optimal performance in line with best practices with the Engagement of Dr. Babtunde Akinbinu MbChb, MPH as new Team Doctor.
The graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University and holder of Diploma in Football Medicine joins the illustrious list of doctors to have worked with Sunshine Stars, which include former Ondo NMA Chairman, Dr Ismaila Busari.
Dr Akinbinu has since resumed duty with the Club.

Ten days break for its players following the suspension of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
This was contained in a statement signed by the club’s media officer, Norbert Okolie.
According to him, the club’s General Manager, Davison Owumi announced the Ten days break to the players on Friday, at their Camp located at Nkponkiti Independence Layout, Enugu.
Owumi urged the players to be conscious of the health situations around them during the break.
