Buhari, go after bandits
In as much this government gives utmost concern to security of lives, I wonder, how on earth 83 people of Zamfara State were murdered in one fell swoop, but yet what followed was a mere terse warning to the bandits from President Muhammadu Buhari. I know the president is doing his best to stop this banditry, but some actions of this government will trigger one to say the government is not ready enough to take decisive measures against banditry.
Obviously, it seems like we don’t want to be hard on them but still awaiting time the bandits will lay down their arms and declare allegiance to the government to the detriment of our people. Warnings and condemnations shouldn’t be enough. To stem the tide of these unfortunate incidences, it requires maximum, adequate vigilance by security agents in the affected areas for the affected people to sleep with two eyes closed. One should remind President Muhammadu Buhari that were he not the one who berated, severely censured previous governments on account of insecurity?
With the ongoing killings, large scale abductions, and unleashing terror acts, I want to say that bandits have indeed showed enough, wilful disregard for peace. They don’t spare children, women or elderly in their bid to instil fear in the minds of innocent citizens. To be precise, we no longer have words to express the barbarity of bandits’ activities in some parts of this country. Regrettably, bandits have no doubt committed enough violence and brutality against helpless Nigerians.
Therefore, it’s high time for the government to ferociously wipe them with full force. On account of the present atrocities, bandits don’t deserve to be handled with soft hands. Very unfortunate to note that not a single day passes by without hearing any news that’ll cost a sleepless night. Most of the present security problems are the resultant effects of banditry in some parts of the country. In sum, sad to note that many activities, lives were crippled courtesy of repeated bandit attacks. If we don’t act faster, banditry portends a great danger to our collective peace.
