- From Mohammed I. Yaba, Kaduna

Suspected armed bandits have abducted six people, among them, three children and three other people at Milgoma community in Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The incident happened around 9pm on Friday when the bandits were said to have stormed the community and abducted the victims.

Daily Trust on Sunday gathered that the bandits also shot and injured a commercial motorcyclist in the community, who is now receiving treatment at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika.

A resident of the area, who asked not to be named for security reasons, said the commercial motorcyclist was on his way home when he ran into the bandits and they opened fire on him.

He said the mother of the three children was later released when the bandits discovered she couldn’t walk fast enough.

At the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Government and the state police command were yet to release official statements on the incident. However, the command’s public relations officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, asked for time to verify and revert.
