Taskforce threatens to impound rams roaming streets of Abuja
The Chairman FCT Ministerial Taskforce, Mr Ikharo Attah, has warned livestock traders along major roads in the city to stop henceforth, threatening to impound any ram that is found roaming the streets of Abuja.
Attah handed down the warning when he led the taskforce team on a raid of an illegal ram market at DutseAlhaji, Bwari Area Council on Saturday.
He said the FCT administration would seek forfeiture orders against any offender in the court of law.
“We want to get the ram sellers organised, but we discovered that some people appeared not to be willing to sell their rams in an organized manner,” he said.
He said despite ram sellers being given designated points to sell their rams, some of them have chosen to display their rams in a manner that causes traffic congestion.
He, therefore, called on livestock traders, especially those selling rams for the Sallah festival, to go to designated areas to avoid their rams being confiscated.
