Otunba takes MDAs automation campaign to North East
The Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF) Jonah Ogunniyi Otunla, says the implementation of the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System by all federal government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, would leverage on modern technology and transform the way government does its businesses.
Speaking at the North East zonal stakeholders retreat on the implementation of the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS) and Treasury Single Account (TSA) held in Gombe, on Tuesday, the AccountantGeneral told all federal government’s MDA’s chief executives and their directors from Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe Taraba and Yobe states that the implementation of the process would particularly improve public financial management.
He said the event in Gombe primarily focused on the GIFMIS and the reforms it is supporting especially the Treasury Single Account that has been adopted by the federal government since 2011, stressing that the North East is the first zone to begin implementation outside Abuja.
