Educationist urges old boys on alma mater

- From Eyo Charles, Calabar

A veteran teacher and current educational adviser in Malawi, Professor Ken Longden, has advised former old boys of schools in Nigeria to endeavor to evolve modalities that will raise the status of their former schools.

Professor Longden challenged the old boys association of Community Secondary Grammar School (COSGRAM), Ugep in Cross River State, to rise and ensure that their alma mater benefits optimally from the ongoing infrastructure facilities being provided post primary schools in the state.

Longden who also taught at COSGRAM 43 years ago, said he felt delighted to see some of his students now excelling in their various professions.

He said though the school has witnessed some development, it was important for the old boys to invest more resources to uplift the status of the school.

He said this will make the school initiate programmes that would make it produce outstanding graduates in the country.
