NBTE approves 12 courses for Mubi poly
The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has accredited 12 new programmes for the Federal Polytechnic Mubi, Adamawa State.
The rector of the polytechnic, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yahya, said at a meeting of the school’s governing council that 13 programmes were submitted to NBTE for accreditation but 12 were approved after the quality assurance scrutiny by the board.
Alhaji Yahya said the accreditation covered four Higher National Diploma (HND) courses and eight National Diploma (ND) programmes comprising science and technology and management.
He also said the NBTE has given the Mubi Polytechnic approval to admit students for the 12 new programmes for the 2013/2014 academic session.
He said efforts are being made by the management of the institution to remedy the deficiency observed in the programme that failed the NBTE’s accreditation exercise.
