Nile varsity to commence postgraduate programmes
The Vice Chancellor of the Nigerian Turkish Nile University (NTNU), Professor Huseyin Sert, yesterday said the university will commence postgraduate programmes this year.
Speaking at the 15th matriculation ceremony of the university, Professor Sert said all necessary preparations have been completed for the take-off of the postgraduate school.
Professor Sert said, “The matriculated students for the 2013/2014 academic session were chosen from the thousands of applicants that applied for admission into the university.”
He said that the university commenced academic programmes in 2009 with two faculties and seven departments adding that it now has three faculties and 16 departments.
Professor Sert said NTNU will move to its permanent site next year, adding that construction for the Law and Medical faculties had commenced at the site.
He said NTNU is a member of the International Association of Universities and the Association of West African Universities (AWAU).
He charged the new students to exhibit high level of discipline and commitment to studies during their stay in the university, noting that hard work always pays.
