APC reconciliation efforts in Kano, Sokoto, others on course - Scribe

- By Balarabe Alkassim

Efforts being made by the national leadership of All Progressives Congress(APC) to reconcile its members with the governors that defected to the party is still on course.

National Secretary of the party, Tijjani Musa Tumsah stated while speaking to Daily Trust at the party’s secretariat in Abuja yesterday.

Tumsah said, the formation of APC is a great advantage for the North to produce the next president but the crisis is more concentrated in the North especially in the states where the governors defected to the APC.

He therefore called on members of the party in the affected states to put the house of APC in order for it to be able to realise its objective of liberating the Nigerian people from the hands of the ruling party which is taking the country down.

“You know anytime you try to bring people with different interests together there bound to be some problems, which is common especially in politics,” he said.

He however added that, the party is in touch with some elders in the North who will liaise with the various reconciliation committees in the affected states in order to bring an end to the lingering disputes.

On party registration, the secretary said the January 28 date is a proposal subject to the approval of the National Working Committee (NWC) which will meet next month to deliberate on issues including the party’s convention.
