Gunmen abduct APC chieftain in Bauchi
Gunmen have kidnapped a chieftain of the All People Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, Alhaji Sama’ila Ilali Ahmed. It was gathered that the politician was kidnapped from his residence in Darazo Local Government Area.
Ilali Ahmed represented Darazo/Ganjuwa federal constituency at the House of Representatives between 2007 and 2011. Police Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Police Command DSP Haruna Mohammed confirmed the incident.
He said: “We received a complaint at Darazo Division this morning that unknown gunmen numbering about ten went to the house of Alhaji Samaila at about 0200hrs and abducted him. Investigation is in progress and the commissioner of police has ordered an aggressive manhunt of the perpetrators.”
Publicity Secretary of APC Youth Vanguard, North-east zone, Alhaji Nasiru Ibrahim Darazo said Samaila Ahmed was aspiring to contest for the Senate under the All Progressive Congress (APC) in 2015.
