Police foil assassination attempt, recover arms in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command foiled an assassination attempt on the chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Shira Local Government Area of the state, Alhaji Sama’ila Mohammed Sambuwal, Daily Trust gathered.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer DSP Haruna Mohammed, while briefing newsmen in Bauchi, said two suspects have been arrested in connection with the assassination attempt and that three Ak 47 rifles and ammunition were recovered.

He said police have commenced investigation into the matter, urging members of the public to report any suspicious character.
