Why we did not attend AIG meeting – Kebbi APC

- From Garba Muhammad, Birnin Kebbi

The All Progressive Party (APC) Kebbi State chapter has explained why it shunned the interactive session organized by the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) zone 10 Mamman Sule at the state police command in Birnin Kebbi

A chieftain of the APC and former deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Sulaiman Argungu, told newsmen yesterday in Birnin Kebbi that the party was not aware of the meeting, and as such couldn’t have been in attendance.

“We were not aware of the meeting because we did not receive any invitation,” he said.

The police had organized an interactive session with all political parties in the state last Thursday, Daily Trust gathered.

The AIG, Zone 10, which comprises Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States, said the session was to work towards ensuring that the 2015 elections are conducted without violence, bloodshed and intimidation.

“I was in Zamfara State last week on the same mission and appealed to all political parties in the zone to conduct themselves appropriately. I am assuring you that the police will be fair to all political parties”, he said.
