Foreign affairs minister tackles Okorocha over state funds

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Professor Viola Onwuliri yesterday asked Governor Rochas Okorocha to account for funds accruing the state from the federation account.

Onwuliri, while briefing journalist­s in Owerri alleged that Okorocha has been receiving huge sums of money belonging to Imo State from Federal Government, without anything to show for it.

The minister accused the governor of putting up uncomplete­d hospitals in the 27 local government areas in the state.

The minister who urged the governor to desist from insulting President Goodluck Jonathan, maintained that the president that has done a lot for the state.

She regretted that Imo people are yet to benefit from certain funds and internatio­nal grants due to what she described as Okorocha’s lack of interest to partner the Federal Government.
