Physically challenged, 3 others get NYSC minister’s award
A physically challenged female and three other males of the 2013 Batch ‘A’ corps members deployed to the FCT for their one year mandatory service have been awarded with Minister’s Honours Award for their outstanding performances during the service year.
The four corps members; Obi Patrick, AlimonAdu, Aminu Hauwa and Samuel Ekundayo, were honoured alongside six other corps members, who were given commendation letters, during the passing out ceremony held at the NYSC orientation camp in Kubwa, Abuja.
Speaking during the event, the Director General of NYSC reiterated his administration’s determination to increase the relevance and impact of the scheme to make it acceptable to stakeholders, including the host community.
“It is the quality of the corps members that would make the host community accept them more than it currently has,” he stated.
He further assured of improvement in the service content of the scheme by making the corps members more responsible and positively aggressive for people to accept them.
One of the awardees, Aminu Hauwa, expressed appreciation to the scheme for the opportunity offered her to contribute her quota towards impacting the lives of people at the grassroots.
