Numa hails Garba’s elevation to F/Eagles

-

A former Nigeria junior international, Binebi Numa, believes the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) made the right decision in appointing Manu Garba as the head coach of the Flying Eagles.

Numa said Garba had not only led the U-17 team to glory, but had been with them for close to two years and is ideally placed in a better position to get the best out of the players as they step up to the U-20 level.

He added that Garba was also in a good position to boost the team with players from the league, having coached at Gombe United recently.

He told supersport.com: “Garba is the perfect choice for the Flying Eagles to ensure the smooth progression of the Golden Eaglets to the team.

“He has been with this group of players for about one year and eight months, so he knows them inside out and they all respect him.

“There are more challenges at U-20 level, and his presence would be good for their development.

“It is almost inevitable that players from the league would be called in to compete for places, and he has the experience to make the right choices having been with Gombe United not too long ago.”
