Ilorin chiefs warn Kwara CP against partisanship
The Ilorin Emirate Magajis and Alangua Forum as well as traditional title holders in Kwara State have assured the new commissioner of police, Mr Ambrose Aisabo, of their maximum support and cooperation.
However, the traditional chiefs warned the commissioner to discharge his duties with utmost professionalism and shun partisan politics.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the chairman, Alhaji AbdulWahab Sanni who is the Alajagusi of Ajagusi and the vice chairman, Alhaji Saliu Woru Mohammed, who doubles as the Mogaji Nda of Ilorin.
It would be recalled that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had alleged that the commissioner was posted at the instance of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The commissioner however denied the allegation, saying: “My posting to the state is routine. There is no ulterior motive about it. So let me correct the impression people have about my deployment to Kwara State.”
The traditional rulers enjoined the commissioner to emulate his predecessor, Mr. Agboola Oshodi-Glover, who they described as a genuine and peace loving police chief.
The traditional chiefs called on all law abiding people in the state to cooperate with the police and other law enforcement agents in sustaining the peace and security in the state.
