‘Why Northern Senators are against rotational presidency in Constitution’
Nigeria is built on a tripod: North, West and East. The problem with Nigeria started when some people tried to collapse one of the pillars holding the nation straight. Whatever change is envisaged in the future must not disturb this equilibrium, so that peace can subsist.

I totally agree with the senators on these two issues: the geo-political zones in the North are inadequate and some quarters not represented because of the vast land, ethnic groups and diversities in the North; and also the creation of more states in the country without necessarily allocating additional resources.
Zoning of Presidency is unconstitutional but should be properly entrenched (without compromising competence) to balance power sharing in the country. That’s the only way to prevent one section dominating others.
Usman A Ngaski ngaskiu@yahoo.ca *********************** Zoning is already unconstitutional presently, and the present zone being created for political reason is already creating ethnic and religious differences among Nigerians. Zoning should not be given another opportunity to split Nigeria.
Bala Yaro balayaro@rocketmail.com *********************** The same problem of Northern Yorubas applies to Mid-Westerners; the old Bendel should be made a zone.
