PDP LG scribe, relatives die in auto crash

The Acting Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State, Malam Sanusi Aminu and members of his family including his mother, wife and two daughters died in a car crash along the Tambuwal-Sokoto road over the weekend.

Members of the family were accompanying a bride to Sokoto from a wedding ceremony in Dogon Daji village in Tambuwal died when their Peugeot 406 car crashed into a petrol tanker Saturday, our correspondent gathered yesterday.

It was gathered that the tanker which was on its way to Jega, Kebbi State from Sokoto collided with the wedding team’s vehicle at Hausari village along the Sokoto- Tambuwal road around 7pm.

A younger sister of the bride, Miss Iklima Tafida, who confirmed the incident, said the family was in shock over the tragedy.

The deceased have been buried in accordance with Islamic rites. The burial was attended by the state’s Deputy Governor, Barrister Mukhtari Shagari and other party officials. Shagari who is the leader of the state PDP prayed Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest.
