- From Usman A. Bello, Lokoja

Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State has approved N400 million for the state’s Community and Social Development Agency (KGCSDA) to fund community projects in 2014.

The governor, who spoke at the commissioning of two blocks of classrooms and motorized solar-powered borehole at Ichala-Ajode village in Ibaji Local Government Area, said government took the step following receipt of information that the International Development Association (IDA) has withdrawn its funding for community projects this year.

Earlier, General Manager of the agency, Mr James Odibla, said the KGCSDA has so far drawn over N1.2 billion of the World Bank funds to execute community development projects in the state.

Odibla said 260 micro projects have been approved and that N751 million has been disbursed to communities.
