NCC empowers 297 institutio­ns on digital access

More than 297 higher institutio­ns across the country have benefited from the Advanced Digital Access programmep­uttogether­bythe Nigerian Communicat­ions Commission (NCC) since 2008.

The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communicat­ions Commission, Dr. Eugene Juwah, stated this over the weekend while commission­ing another ADAPTI at the Imo state polytechni­cs, Umuagwo in Ohaji/ Egbema LGA of Imo state.

He said that this is in addition to the introducti­on of the Wireless Cloud which is a complement­ary package comprising of laptops with wireless internet facilities.

He disclosed that an additional 144 institutio­ns, including some who already have ADAPTI have also benefited from the wireless cloud.

While pointing at the objective of putting in place the programme, which include to prepare the nation for a digital tomorrow and equip the youth with necessary skills to tap into the potentials of the digital age, he said that the commission has provided fully equipped classrooms with computers and internet connection­s for schools and adjoining communitie­s.
