NIM to build ‘village’ for members in Abuja

- By Simon Echewofun Sunday

The President and Chairman of the Council of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Dr Nelson Ozoukwu Uwaga, has disclosed that the institute is planning the construction of a NIM Village in Abuja to provide accommodation for its members.

Uwaga, who said this last week in Abuja at a dinner to mark his maiden visit to the north-central zone of the institute, said the village will promote the affairs of the institute as it will engender harmony and partnership among members.

Uwaga disclosed that NIM had realised N35 million in its membership drive, and that members should not relent in their efforts to get more people to join the institute.

He tasked the northcentral zone to work in close partnership with other zones, adding that the zone has been very useful to the growth of the institute.

The chairman, NIM north-central zone, Dr Raymond Iheanacho commended the president’s visit to the zone just as he said the zone will continue to support the mission and objectives of the institute.

Chairman of the NIM Maitama Chapter, Dr. John Ibe, described the visit as a challenge for members to corroborate for progress.

Ibe noted that for NIM to function very well there must be a ‘peering device’ to ensure a stronger functionality.
