Jonathan bows to pressure over Sanusi

- President Goodluck Jonathan

President Jonathan, constitutionally, has no business with whoever is chosen as the Emir, Oba or Obi. His main duty is the business of providing adequate security to the masses

Max

maxwell197532@gmail.com ************************** May Allah usher in peace and stability at all times in Kano and Nigeria as a whole.

Maikahon Karo

maiakhonkaro@yahoo.com ************************** An objective contributor does not have to “look around” before giving his honest opinion. It is obvious that Kwankwaso and his APC cronies appointed Sanusi more as a ploy to ridicule Jonathan than out of genuine commitment to install the right emir for the people. Maybe in 2015 or 2019, Jonathan will cease to be president and Kwankwaso will no longer have to fight him... but the people of Kano will be compelled to live forever with the wrong emir foisted on them. From a moral and religious perspective, do you honestly think that Sanusi deserved the position more than Ciroman Kano?

Objectivity

objectivity2015@yahoo.com ************************** Do you really need security if you have nothing to hide and be acceptable to your people? It is time to do away with traditional rulers in Nigeria, because the institution perpetrates corruption, laziness and unnecessary tension. At least, Sanusi can now hide under the facade of traditional leadership to avoid being censured for his role in unauthorised financial disbursement of public funds in CBN. Nigeria is the mother of all corruption. It is obvious that something is wrong with his selection if the Bayeros cannot join his entourage to welcome him to the palace.

Baba Adini

adinibab@yahoo.com ************************** We all know that the grandfather of Emir Sanusi Lamido was removed as Emir of Kano because of his unflinching stand against penal code that was introduced by the Sardauna government as against the Shari’a law.

Aminu

trust1970@gmail.com ************************** The worst thing that has happened to Nigeria was the emergence of our current political leaders. They are 100% incapable of safely leading Nigeria to the expected destination. Here is a president, his government and fellow wealthy politicians who feel happy when the nation is burning! In fact, they remotely set up the fire most of the times. They have not done anything tangible, other than sowing the seeds of discord among Nigerians in their inordinate ambition to continue misleading us. And if that should happen, Nigeria is gone.

Gagare Gajere

gajeregagare@yahoo.com ************************** In the first place, the Federal Government has nothing to do with the appointment or otherwise of the Emir of Kano. According to the law vested on the Kingmakers, after consultation, the names of three nominated candidates will be submitted to the government for appointment of one of them. It is wrong for the Police to siege the palace, while the whole saga is a family affair.

Nura Dalhatu Audu

nuradalhatuaudu@gmail.com ************************** Why is it that everything about the new Emir is being done at the Government House? Is the Emir no longer a traditional ruler? Perhaps, this is why most people are saying that Kwankwaso and his government are the brain behind the crisis that followed the announcement of the new Emir. One thing is clear: anything built on falsehood will continue to be shaky, no matter how strong it is perceived to be. And if one allows cracks in the wall of one’s house, lizard will surely penetrate them. Adieu Ado Bayero!
