This question by Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, is it for man or God to answer? Similar doubts were expressed during the Prophet Muhammad’s time, and many others chosen as leaders in history on ground of age, wisdom, knowledge, charisma, etc. Coincidence, grace, luck, eligibility, acceptance, events that give advantage and favour to people be selected, elected or win trophies combine in complex ways to make things possible, and always are proof of destiny, God’s desire and power. Nothing makes people perfectly ripe for position in the eyes of public and gives success like God’s grace and blessings .This is a prayer for the new Emir of Kano. BAGUDU, Minna, +2348159500975 Abdulrazaque’s article is also really simplistic. ‘’At the risk of sounding like a hater...I know for a FACT that the selection of SLS as emir of Kano is fraught with so many terrible questions... the process ...was secretive, partisan, and rushed...’’ , he claims? Really? Should the kingmakers, real gentlemen, have consulted the writer before arriving at a decision? Should they have conducted the selection in public at Rimi Market? Or they should have vacillated weeks on end without arriving at a decision? The selection followed a time-tasted process, conducted by men that tradition saddled with the responsibility and within accepted time frame. The motive of the writer drips with hate. It’s rare for a man to walk his talk but SLS has and Kano is now his turf and he knows what is expected of him. Malam Abdulrazaque will have to learn to live with that. JIBIR A, +2348023748001 Recently, the Ijaw tribal chief was quoted to have said that Northern governors were not performing. How wrong can he be! He should take a trip to some states in the region, particularly Kano, to see the real meaning of transformation, not the corruption-tainted model where stealing has gone from millions to billions. He should endeavour to find out from his state governor what he has done with the huge allocation to the state from oil windfalls. COLLINS Uwa, Kubwa, FCT, +2348059876378
