FCT police gun down suspected armed robber
Men of the FCT police comman, while on patrol Wednesday afternoon intercepted a gang of armed robbers, who on sighting the police opened, fire on them and one of them gunned down.
A police source informed City News that a police patrol team intercepted a gang of hoodlums attacking a resident of Karmo village, who on sighting patrol team, took to their heels but the officers pursued them.
The source added that they were carrying sophisticated weapons and that they immediately opened fire on the police and police responded, adding that one of them was fatally injured and was confirmed dead at Wuse General Hospital, where his body was deposited.
“Before the attack on the residents, motorists and residents of Sani Abacha express have been complaining of constant armed robbery attacks on a daily basis. A woman, who was coming back from the market was also attacked within the period that resident was being attacked but luck ran out of them when the police arrived amidst series of distress calls,” he said.
Reacting, police spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent Hyelhira Altine Daniel, confirmed the incident, saying the armed robbers have been the ones attacking residents and users of that expressway forest.

FCT mount constant patrol in the area.
The FCT PPRO said the patrol team saw armed men violently attacking that helpless young lady, adding that when they saw the police, they took off and that after realizing that the police was about catching up with them, they opened fire and a gun dual ensued which resulted in the death of one of them.
