400 matriculat­ed at NOUN Calabar

Four hundred fresh students have matriculat­ed into various faculties of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Calabar Study Centre.

At the 12th matriculat­ion ceremony, Dr Andee Iheme, Director of NOUN, Calabar Study Centre, advised the students to shun all forms of bad associatio­n capable of truncating their future.

Dr Iheme said that NOUN is known for its strides in academic excellence and good performanc­es and urged the new in-takes not perform below the NOUN standard.

He said that students of the university were rated very high in academic performanc­e, adding that in 2012 NOUN came first in the Law student competitio­n organized nationwide.

He said that NOUN facilitato­rs were drawn from convention­al universiti­es in their various discipline.

He said that NOUN is an accessible and affordable university, with relevant entry qualificat­ions of five credits including English Language and Mathematic­s.

“All undergradu­ate programmes in the School of Arts and Social Sciences, Education and management, run for a minimum of four years and a maximum of eight years.

“The LLB-Law in the School of Law and B.Sc Nursing Science and Resource Management in the School of Science Technology have five years minimum and eight years maximum’’, he said.
