Politicizing public institutions unacceptable - APC Nat’l Secretary
National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Mai Mala Buni has condemned the politicizing of government institutions and infrastructures by the federal government.
The secretary said “it is unfortunate and unacceptable for government to employ selective use of public institutions and infrastructures constructed with public funds.”
He described as disgusting how pilgrims from Borno and Yobe States traveling to Saudi Arabia were refused usage of the Maiduguri airport and had to travel by road to Kano to take off to Saudi Arabia.
“Borno State governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima and Senator Ali Ndume were also denied take off from the airport but, the authorities opened the airport to Ali Sherrif to facilitate his defection to PDP.
“This is a repeat of what happened during the Ekiti State governorship elections where APC governors were refused landing at the Akure airport” he said.
Alhaji Mai Mala pointed out that the PDP government was orchestrating primitive politics which does not speak well for Nigeria and development of democracy.
“I think government must urgently stop this dirty politics and concentrate on issues that will improve the lives of Nigerians instead of these brazen abuse of public office with impunity” he said.
The secretary noted that a serious government should be concerned with the disturbing trend of insecurity, collapse of institutions and infrastructures, high level corruption and the unacceptable level of unemployment that has enveloped the country under the PDP regime.
Mai Mala said it was not surprising that politicians who failed to actualize selfish goals decided to leave APC for other parties where such selfish sentiments can be achieved.
