NIOB gets new chairman
Nigeria Institute of Building (NIOB) Kebbi State Chapter has elected Builder Ibrahim Umar as new chairman.
The newly elected chairman, in an interview with newsmen, shortly after the inauguration of the new Exco over the weekend at the Umar Waziri Federal Polytechnic Hall, Birnin Kebbi, disclosed that, for the past 23 years the association has always been on caretaker until now that they were able to elect the new executives who would serve for the period of two years with effect from 2014 to 2016.
He appealed to the Kebbi State government to include or register all members in her procurement process team (Due Process) as contained in the National Building Code, Procurement Act 2007 of Nigeria.
“The association is one of the recognized bodies in the country and there is need to be included in any of the government procurement process in accordance with the provisions of the Nigeria’s Procurement Act 2007,” he said.
Umar thanked the state government for all their support and the management of Waziri Umar Federal Polytechnic Birnin Kebbi, during the just concluded MCDP held recently at Gusau, Zamfara State.
He assured members that his administration will operate an open door policy and promised to deliver according to their constitutional right.
Builder Ibrahim S. Koko emerged Vice Chairman, Builder Mohammed Marafa Secretary, Builder Bandiya Umar Patron, Builder Mohammed Nagande Financial Secretary, Builder Tukur Mohammed Jabbo, Treasurer, while Mohammed Nayelwa emerged Public Relations Officer (PRO).
