Ettah is NECA’s new president
the new Strategic Plan of our organisation, as presented recently by the management of NECA and endorsed by the Governing Council, he said.’’
He implored the federal government to implement the Steve Oronsanye’s Report which recommended reduction and scrapping of some ministries and agencies
He also said that those lobbying the federal govern-ment to jettison the report do not mean well for the country.
He appealed to the federal government to disregard the entreaties of the lobbyists to shun the implementation of the report.
He maintained that the numbers of government agencies are too many for the country to cope with amidst overlapping responsibilities.
He said: ’’We, therefore, want to advise the government to quickly move on to the next stage of implementation in spite of the lobbying and opposition, which is being driven by narrow stakeholders’ interest. We believe that this action will significantly reduce government’s recurrent expenditure.’’
He expressed disgust over the spate of insecurity in Nigeria and said the development has dampened the nation’s economic growth and development.
According to him, the continued Boko Haram insurgency is shrinking he market for products in the North and even strangulated productive activities there.
