Nigerian mission opens media centre in Accra
The Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, Ambassador Ademola Seyi Onafowwkan, has opened a media centre in Accra in an effort to strengthen the burgeoning Nigerian media landscape in the West African country.
The centre, situated at the Nigeria Culture Centre Complex in central Accra, was conceived to facilitate the work of journalists, as well as serve as a platform for the dissemination of information and culture of Nigeria, the High Commissioner said. The envoy called on the Nigerian media in Ghana to use their platforms to propagate the culture of Nigeria and also foster the economic relationship between Nigeria and Ghana.
“I want to urge the Nigerian media to work hard and promote the programmes of the Federal Government of Nigeria and promote the economic relationship between Ghana and Nigeria; to work hard to promote everything that is Nigerian. Give us a true identity in Ghana,” he stated.
Ambassador Onafowwkan underscored the importance of a conducive working environment for media practice, adding that the centre will also serve as a suitable networking platform for the journalists.
The Executive Officer of PE Fancy Ghana Ltd and Managing Editor of Renewal Magazine International, Mr. Paul Emmanuel, lauded the visionary leadership of the High Commissioner.
