Adamawa: Fintiri swears in 9 commission­ers

Nine commission­ers have been appointed to run the affairs of the transition government in Adamawa State.

Speaking at the swearing in ceremony at Government House in Yola yesterday, the Acting Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, said the appointees were dependable people who were selected based on track records service, saying the state stands to benefit from their experience­s.

The commission­ers were screened by the state House of Assembly a few hours before the swearing in which was held at Government House. The list of the appointees was submitted to the House on Wednesday. Fintiri advised them to be upright in the discharge of their official responsibi­lities, saying the interim administra­tion was committed to restoring the glory of government before handing over to an elected government and he would not tolerate indiscipli­ne and corruption.

Responding on behalf of the appointees, Chief John Elias thanked the acting governor for finding them worthy of serving in his government, assuring him of their loyalty and service.

The new commission­ers are; Felix Tangwami from Demsa Local Government, Saidu Mustafa from Song, Rogers Nathan from Hong, Jummai Wulasha from Guyuk and Ahmad Alhassan from Maiha. Others are Ahmad from Mayo-Belwa, Justina Obadiah from Lamurde and Nuhu Bobbo from Fufore.
