2015 elections will consolidate Nigeria’s unity - Pwajok

- From Onimisi Alao, Jos

Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State Senator Gyang Pwajok has said that contrary to the opinion of ‘prophets of doom’ that the general elections due next month would destabilise Nigeria, the country would survive and possibly become stronger.

“God will make the 2015 general elections the very basis for the consolidation of the unity of the country,” Pwajok said yesterday in Jos while receiving officials of the Plateau State Youth Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) who were in his Rayfield home, Jos, on a courtesy call. Pwajok who currently represents Plateau North Senatorial Zone in the National Assembly said with God on the side of well-meaning Nigerians working for the country’s interest, Nigeria would win the war against insurgency and other forms of threats.

He said his becoming a senator in 2012 and recent election as Plateau governorship flag bearer of the PDP were a demonstration of God’s work for generational change, adding that while elders would have dreams, the youth would see vision for the development of Plateau State and Nigeria.

Earlier in an opening remark, chairman of the group Johnson Bistu said he and his fellow executives chose to visit Pwajok to identify with him for assisting them to build a conference hall at their secretariat.
