Kropmann Communications has promised to work with utility companies in Nigeria to leverage Geospatial Information Systems solutions to enhance their operational performance and quality delivery.

The company made the disclosure at Africa Geospatial forum 2014 in Lagos.

According to Ryan Swanepoel, a representative from one of Kropmanns partners, the promise was made as part of the company’s efforts to expand partnerships and inform the Nigerian Market on the value and benefits of adopting GIS Solutions to improve asset, operational management, as well as the analysis of numerous forms of data.

He said it was necessary to be at the forum to understand the market, and the opportunities the Nigerian market presented to Kropmann.

Swanepoel stated that GIS solutions and technology has applications across all sectors of the economy.

He said: “GIS Solutions are capable of capturing and displaying a wide array of data and displaying it visually in relationship to the physical location the Data is relevant to. There are some CIS solutions, which can be used to capture geographically dispersed equipment and represent this equipment in a pictorial or graphical manner referenced to the physical location the equipment is tied to. Such GIS Systems are particularly relevant in utility companies involved in power distribution, water networks, the oil and gas and telecommunication sectors, and can definitely enhance operational effectiveness and asset management within these organisations.”
