PDP’s worst candidate better than opposition’s best - Suswam

- From Hope Abah, Makurdi

Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State has said it is better for the worst candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to win than for the best opposition’s candidate to emerge winner in next month’s general elections in the country.

Suswam who spoke at the inauguration of the governorship campaign council and directorate in Makurdi at the weekend assured that PDP would have a landslide victory in the state with President Goodluck Jonathan taking a lead with 100 percent votes.

“It is better for the worst candidate in PDP to win election than to vote a best candidate in the opposition party. Let nobody be deceived this time around. We are going to record 100 percent victory as before. The opposition party is going to have nothing. We must return to the record of 1999 where we won all the seats in Benue State come rain come shine,” the governor said.

He disclosed that the party under his leadership had put all necessary measures in place to win all the elective positions in the forthcoming general elections in the state.

He said apart from former minister of state for Industry, Trade and Investment Samuel Ortom, all the other aspirants accepted the outcome of the primaries and have since congratulated the winner, Terhemen Tarzoor and are in his campaign train.

Earlier, the state’s party chairman, Dr. Emmanuel Agbo Emmanuel during the presentation of candidates and inauguration of the campaign team charged them to be effective and proactive in the course of selling their ‘products.’

Agbo, however, threatened to drop any member of the campaign team found wanting in the process of the assignment even as he maintained that the job is already made easy following the purposeful developmental stride recorded by Governor Suswam in the past seven and half years.
