Kebbi APC receives over 2,000 PDP defectors

ver 2,000 members and 18 executives of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi State have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors were received during the weekend by the APC governorship candidate, Sen Atiku Bagudu, during the party’s governorship campaign rally in Kangiwa, Arewa LGA of the state.

Leader of the defectors and the PDP Arewa LGA chairman, Alh Garba Marafa, said they decamped to the APC to ensure lasting peace, security and socioeconomic development of the state and Nigeria and because the PDP refused to fulfil its promises to the people.

“Over 2,000 of our members and 18 executives including me from the PDP have accepted to decamp to the APC and we shall give the APC 100 per cent support and loyalty. This is because the PDP is a party of deceit and has failed to fulfil all its past promises to the electorate,” he said.

The chief host and APC House of Representatives candidate of Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency, Alh Hussaini Zango Kangiwa, assured the party that all the votes in Arewa LGA will go to APC despite PDP’s threat to traditional rulers and government employees.

APC governorship candidate, Sen Atiku Bagudu, while receiving the decampees, promised that they will enjoy same right and privileges enjoyed by members of the party.
